The "Trame Verte" is a land-use planning tool whose main objectives are to create and preserve a coherent ecological network that maintains the ecosystem services provided by ecosystems. It is made up of biodiversity reservoirs linked by ecological corridors. It therefore takes into account
- natural habitats of flora and fauna ,
- breeding sites,
- feeding sites,
- rest and shelter sites,
- wildlife corridors,
- plant dispersal corridors
The components of the Green Belt are not necessarily permanent and fixed (e.g. bird migration routes).
