Syllabus

  • Understanding biodiversity: conservation challenges, ecosystem services, ecological networks, causes of decline, ordinary urban biodiversity
  • Construction sector challenges: impacts on biodiversity, concept of grey biodiversity
  • Implementation: ecological assessment, building greening, species selection, fauna-friendly features, rainwater management
  • Construction phase: managing impacts during execution
  • Operation: differentiated green space management, occupant awareness, urban agriculture
  • Tools and examples: regulations (ERC sequence, Biodiversity Act), certifications (HQE, BREEAM), specific labels and certifications, biomimicry and biophilia

Prerequisites

No prerequisites.

Assessment and validation

End-of-training multiple-choice quiz to validate objectives

Teaching methods

In-person or virtual classroom: expository and active teaching (illustrated cases and case studies)

2 Level 2 days (14h)
