ILE Ô BOIS
The "Île Ô Bois" project led by ATARAXIA in Rennes involves the construction of 49 housing units on an urban block, while complying with strict ecological criteria to achieve Effinature certification. The project approach includes an in-depth analysis of the initial state of biodiversity, including the state of the soil, flora, fauna and pollution, prior to any intervention on the site. This analysis is used to develop a methodology for preserving existing biodiversity and to determine the site's ecological strengths and weaknesses.
The project's ecological program includes measures to minimize nuisance during construction, including sustainable management of green waste, reduction of light and noise pollution, and treatment of pollution. Elements are also integrated into the building to encourage local wildlife, such as habitats for birds and insects. The project showcases the teams' professional ecological skills and raises awareness of biodiversity issues among all those involved.
